Well, sad to say I have had to put a stop to walking with Andre and Pudge. Andre is just too big and too strong and when we meet another dog I have too hard a time holding him back. He is not well trained, I am not well trained and the end result is not good. So from now on the walks are over except when Jon can take Andre and I can take Pudge. Sad but one has to be realistic.
Thankfully we have a super back yard that is a quarter of an acre so there is lots of leg room for him. There is also an abundant supply of squirrels and bunnies that provide amusement. Haven’t seen him catch any but he likes to give them a run. Went outside with Andre to play ball. He watched me throw the ball, watched me crawl under the trees to find it and throw it again. Then he went inside. Just not the same as a walk.
Pudge is also down for the day. Not sure what is going on with him. Took him to vet last night but couldn’t find much wrong. Jon thinks he might be traumatized from our “going to the vet” yesterday. I’m not sure. Not getting up even for a treat. You know that he is off when that happens.
I decided that I needed to find some cardio exercise for me to take the place of the walk. I seem to be finding sugar more and more unresistable! Very addictive. Went to a lecture a while back with my sister Barb (dietician) and apparently sugar is more addictive than heroin. I’m obviously hooked. Exercise seems to help the sugar blues. We do have an exercise (weight training) downstairs and I will try to do that a couple of times a week – but read this morning that 15 minutes of stair climbing is great cardio so that’s my new thing. Today I made it for five minutes before my jelly legs said, “NO MORE! WE QUIT!” Will work on the other ten minutes. I may do three bursts of five. Maybe.
My book is only five days from being sent to the printer! The only problem (such a teensy one) is that it’s not done. I thought I was close but my sister Barb did my first proof and the ending did not make it. Dang. So I have come up with a new, improved version and will see what can be done.
Once it does pass the magic “The End” successfully I will move into trying to get some advance reviews. If anyone is interested in getting a free advance copy with the hope (I know it doesn’t always happen) of giving a review on Amazon I would be glad to send an advance copy. Preferably a digital version but I will get a few print proofs that I can send out as well.
If you are interested fill out the form here or drop me a note at email@example.com or leave a comment. My goal is to get 25 to 100 reviews! Maybe this is unrealistic but I am going to try. If you knows anyone who likes to read children’s books or has a child who does and would be open to reviewing it – please share this!
