Well, the last time I posted was in July of last year. At the time I shared about starting a new website – well the way things go – that didn’t last too long. In September I decided I didn’t like the name of that site – so switched to a new domain – ExploringVancouverUSA.com. Haven’t been too faithful with that either. Sort of embarrassing all my ups and downs – but life goes that way sometimes or with me lots of times. At any rate this new site is where I am currently blogging a bit – in case anyone is interested.
I am starting a new business creating gifts and apparel items promoting Vancouver, Washington. It’s more a hobby than anything I hope to make a living from. But it gives me something to think about and work on when I am not working on my day job as a CNA.
I found a young graphic designer who is amazing (Riley Donahue) and he has designed about six t-shirts and a coffee mug and a tote bag. All of which I have not even gotten up and in my store. Here is one.
I am trying to find the right online store to use – the right marketing approach to develop – a lot of searching still – but – in time I will get there. Pray, hope and don’t worry as St. Padre would say.
I wanted to start selling at our local Farmer’s Market but in order to do that – I could not sell Riley’s designs because everything has to be home made or by the artist – not someone you hired. Sad. Anyway then I came up with the brilliant idea of sewing tote bags, purses and kindle and iphone covers. Unfortunately I am not an expert yet and the bags I submitted for review were too simple and ordinary. So I didn’t get approved.
That’s not stopping me – just delaying me some. I’m taking a year to bone up on my sewing and will try for the Vancouver Farmer’s Market next year. In the meantime I may sell at some other local venues this year if I can. Just keeping on – keeping on.
I am still head over heels in love with my boyfriend Jon and that is the most wonderful blessing of my life presently. He has been away for a week ( a very, very long week) learning stuff for a new job he will be doing from home. Tomorrow he comes home and I can hardly wait. Neither can Andre, Pudge and especially Buddy. Jon likes Andre and Pudge no doubt about that – but he is a bit over the top crazy for Buddy.
So that is the state of things. I really, really do not feel like writing on my book at all – so that has been put on the furthest back burner I can find. It will happen I expect but not holding my breath. Still doing my monthly writing lessons for the Children’s Literature Institute I signed up for but it’s more like torture than fun. Will finish it though – step by slow step.
I doubt if I will post here anymore – at least not for another long while. If you do want to keep up with my spasmodic posts at my other site – would love to have you sign up. I am also doing jigsaw puzzles though I lost the script coding I had on my other puzzle site. It went down the tube and can’t get it back up. Life’s trials and tribulations.
Hope things are going well with you – and that God continues to shower blessings upon you in amazing ways.
