Jon decided I was squashing the pillows on the couch too much. So he laid them flat on the seat of the couch. Little matter they sleep just as well that way. Yesterday I discovered that the pillows on the couch on the opposite wall (that were not laid down on the seat) work just as well. It’s nice to have options. Today I’m back onto the flattened out pillows on the couch next to the window. I do like being able to have a view of the neighborhood.
Patty and the boys (Andre and Pudge) went for a walk this morning and I had the house to myself. Nice. Patty has been complaining it was just too blasted cold to go for a walk (her exact words to Andre when he asked) so I’m glad that she finally got off her seat and got some exercise. I worry about her sometimes.
So I must tell you about the latest thing she has been working on. Not too sure I am in favor of it but she didn’t ask so there it is. If you have been around Patty very long you know she tends to start new websites at the drop of a hat. Weird. Totally. Half of them get abandoned after a year or less and fade into cyber space never to be heard from again. Well, I thought she was getting better about that but no, two weeks ago she jumped off the wagon and started another.
It has to do with her hoping to market her next book. She has such high hopes the poor dear. Anyway she got this brilliant idea (she says) to start a daily blog on her marketing efforts following book marketing expert, John Kremer. She is imitating the movie that was popular a while back, Julie and Julia. Did you ever see it? Was about a girl who decided she wanted to learn French Cooking and so she made a recipe a day from Julia Child’s book, The Art of French Cooking. and then blogged about it. Anyway that is what the silly thing has decided to do. I am not sure how it is working out. I think she is on Day 15 today.
She explained it to me during week one that it was something to keep her focused on book marketing. You and I both know how difficult it is to keep that child focused. I hope it helps. Seriously I have my doubts but if it keeps her happy? If you want to take a peek at her site it is aYearWithJohnKremer.com.
So let’s see what else has been happening around here? Cold! I did mention that already I know but I didn’t really go into detail about it. And it should have some detail because it has totally changed my going out and sitting under the bush by the front porch all day. It’s like too dang cold! The other day I slipped out (very crafty I am) and Patty didn’t check to see where I was and where I was, was freezing to death. When she finally checked out the front door and there poor little me was I was not happy. You would think she would have more concern about me than that. At any rate she has slipped into number two position after that little episode and I’ve decided to put Jon into the number one slot.
Jon was already moving up on the chart anyway so it was bound to happen sooner or later. You see Jon appreciates me. A lot. He buys these fancy little snacks and makes sure I get them at least once a day. We have a regular purr and petting session every morning after the alarm goes off, he likes me to sit on his lap and he carries me downstairs to watch TV if I meow a bit that I have been abandoned. One morning he was a bit surprised to find his long underwear pants out in the dining room . . . but I can explain about that. You see I was sitting on the little bench at the end of the bed where I like to sleep at night and he took off his long johns and put them on the bench. Only I was already there. So I like got covered up. Which was okay you know because they were nice and warm and I was fine with the whole thing until . . . I decided I needed a drink of water which was out in the dining room. And I really didn’t think he wanted me to get cold going out to the dining room did he?
That little misunderstanding has been cleared up. No big problem. Jon is still hung up a bit on these couch cushions though. I may have to discuss this with him later. Maybe. It’s working out as it is so who knows? I’m not one to complain.
