I wish I knew what to write “about” on this page. It seems my life has gone upsy-turvy so many times that I don’t think I would recognize the person I was ten, twenty or thirty years ago if I met me face to face today. Isn’t it weird how life changes?
I come from a large family with 7 brothers and 3 sisters. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister in heaven getting the rooms ready for the rest of us when we show up. I figure we may not get big splashy rooms but I’m thinking we’ll all get in somehow.
For 28 years of my life I was a religious sister in a cloistered monastery. A very long story how that ended – but for me in 2009 it was just time to embrace life in a new way. I am a person open to change and circumstances happened that made that change seem the best option for me to take. While I loved my life as a nun I have to say I love my life today even better.
At any rate this “About Page” is about who I am today. I live in Vancouver, Washington with my boyfriend Jon. We have two dogs and a cat. As you can tell from this blog all life centers around them. It just does. “Darn you Buddy, you just came in!”
I am working on my first children’s novel. I wrote the first draft while I was in the monastery about 15 years ago. It was okay but needs a ton of work. I have totally changed it because I have totally changed. While it has a trace of “religion” in it – it is just a trace and not the main focus. Some may think that is a bad thing but it’s where I am at today.
When I am not writing, cleaning house or attempting to cook a meal I spend time with the love of my life, Jon. We spend a lot of time together doing all sorts of amazing things like gardening, going to Car shows (Jon has a 69 Barracuda and we are working on a 38 Business Coupe), going to movies, taking the boys for a walk, letting the cat in and out, flying a kite. Whatever.
Well, hope this lets you know a bit about me. Would love to hear about you. Drop me a note at email@example.com. I live in Vancouver, Washington and if you ever come by this way would love to get together for a cup of coffee and chat!
